Young people around the world are calling for mass climate strikes and walkouts on Friday, Sept. 20, to be followed by a week of global climate action.

As educators who work every day to support young people in their growth to becoming active citizens of democracy and stewards of the environment, and who share deep concerns about the climate crisis, we have been considering our response to the Global Climate Strike and how best to support these important efforts by young people.
After much deliberation we have decided to bring all our middle school students who are interested, and whose parents give permission, to the Vermont Climate Strike rally in Burlington, and to stay in session for the rest of the students and center our activities that day on climate change and action. We encourage any parents who would like to join us in Burlington with their children (of any age) to please come, or to take their children out of school to support the Climate Strike in any way.
