About Us
Campus and Resources
Red Cedar is located just north of the village of Bristol, in the valley along the Hogback Mountain ridge.
The school is based in a large house that includes classrooms and common areas, with open views to the surrounding landscape.
Resources include an extensive classrooms-based library; science lab; computers; kitchen; art workshops; potters wheels and kiln. Our outdoor classroom includes a greenhouse; vegetable, herb and butterfly gardens; apple orchard; cider press; a small barn; yurt; cob oven; play structures; playing fields; sledding hill; winter ice rink; and a bus for field study and trips.
Our two-acre campus is bordered by open farmland and forest, and is within easy access of wilderness areas and cultural resources.
Red Cedar draws students from Addison, Chittenden and Washington counties. The school offers a daily commuter bus service to Chittenden County and northern Addison County.
